This medicine is also affective for treating cystic hydatid which is a disease of the liver, lung, and peritoneum and is caused by larvae that are born from dog tapeworms.

Albenza should be taken with food.
Medication Warnings/Precautions
Albenza may cause harm to a fetus so before starting your treatment with this medication you should make sure that you are not pregnant.
During your treatment period, because of the possibility that this medication may harm to your bone marrow or liver, you should make sure that you receive blood count monitoring and liver function test every two weeks while using Albenza.
If you plan on becoming pregnant while using Albenza or within one month of completing your treatment, you should talk to your doctor about the possible harm that this medication could cause to the fetus.
Missed Medication Dose
If you miss a dose of your medication, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.
